Le Corbusier – Mass Production

Thinking about mass production of homes I started thinking about the area I live in and how a lot of homes are very similar. A developing company builds a lot of homes in my area and their style is very unique to time they were built. As my town develops, new homes are built in the same type of mass production but their style is more relative to the current trend. These neighborhoods are generally built very quickly and it’s most likely due to their repetitive structures.

While browsing online I came across a company that prefabricates homes that fold and then unfold on site and are bolted onto a foundation in a day. They incorporate a unique hinge that allows their homes to be built in factory and adequately shipped to their site. These homes are supposed to decrease the traditional building time in half.
